Madurai: The mortal remains of sepoy Ganesan and lance havildar S Kumar, the two Indian Army soldiers hailing from Madurai and Theni districts, who died in the recent avalanche in Siachen on the India-Pakistan border, were brought to Madurai late on Monday night. The bodies were brought by a chartered flight, which reached Madurai International Airport at around 11.30pm. Earlier in the day, tributes were paid to the soldiers at the Chennai airport.Ganesan, 26, who hails from Sokkathevanpatti near Usilampatti in Madurai had completed Plus Two and enrolled in the army.
His father, Ganapathy Thevar, is employed as a load man. Ganesan has a 17-year-old brother who is pursuing his school studies. Kumar, 35, is from Kumananthozhu in Theni district.
