Do not Pump Full Tank of Petrol…….

READ THE REASONS — DO NOT DONATE FUEL

Recently I came across a very useful tip. I was surprised to know it but had a doubt so I talked to one of the pump technicians and he too accepted it as a fact. I think apart from providing space for the gas generated inside the petrol tank this is yet another reason why we shouldn’t fill the tank to the brim. Many of us are not aware that the petrol kiosk pump has a return pipe-line (in Pink). When the petrol tank (in the car) reaches full level, there is a mechanism to trigger off the pump latch and at the same time a return-valve is opened (at the top of the pump station) to allow excess petrol to flow back into the pump. But the return petrol has already pass through the meter, meaning you are donating the petrol back to the Oil Dealer.

Also only fill up your car or truck in the early morning when the ground temperature is still cold. Remember that all service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground the more dense the petrol, when it gets warmer petrol expands, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening….your liter is not exactly a liter. In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature of the petrol, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products plays an important role.

A 1-degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business. But the service stations do not have temperature compensation at the pumps.

When you’re filling up do not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to a fast mode If you look you will see that the trigger has three (3) stages: low, middle, and high. You should be pumping on low mode, thereby minimizing the vapours that are created while you are pumping. All hoses at the pump have a vapour return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some of the liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapour. Those vapours are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank so you’re getting less worth for your money.

One of the most important tips is to fill up when your Petrol tank is HALF FULL. The reason for this is the more Petrol you have in your tank the less air occupying its empty space. petrol evaporates faster than you can imagine. petrol storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the Petrol and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation. Unlike service stations, here where I work, every truck that we load is temperature compensated so that every litre is actually the exact amount.

Another reminder, if there is a petrol truck pumping into the storage tanks when you stop to buy Petrol, DO NOT fill up; most likely the petrol is being stirred up as the Petrol is being delivered, and you might pick up some of the dirt that normally settles on the bottom.

To have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Petrol buyers. It’s really simple to do.

BRAIN DAMAGING HABITS

BRAIN DAMAGING HABITS ~

1. No Breakfast

People who do not take breakfast are

going to have a lower blood sugar

level.. This leads to an insufficient

supply of nutrients to the brain

causing brain degeneration.

2 . Overeating

It causes hardening of the brain

arteries, leading to a decrease in

mental power.

3. Smoking

It causes multiple brain shrinkage

and may lead to Alzheimer disease.

4. High Sugar consumption

Too much sugar will interrupt the

absorption of proteins and nutrients

causing malnutrition and may

interfere with brain development.

5. Air Pollution

The brain is the largest oxygen

consumer in our 20 body. Inhaling

polluted air decreases the supply of

oxygen to the brain, bringing about a

decrease in brain efficiency..

6 . Sleep Deprivation

Sleep allows our brain to rest… Long

term deprivation from sleep will

accelerate the death of brain cells..

7. Head covered while sleeping

Sleeping with the head covered

increases the concentration of carbon

dioxide and decrease concentration of

oxygen that may lead to brain

damaging effects.

8. Working your brain during illness

Working hard or studying with

sickness may lead to a decrease in

effectiveness of the brain as well as

damage the brain.

9. Lacking in stimulating thoughts

Thinking is the best way to train our

brain, lacking in brain stimulation

thoughts may cause brain shrinkage..

10. Talking Rarely

Intellectual conversations will

promote the efficiency of the brain

Sivaji's epic Pasamalar to re-release in digital format

Come 15 August, die-hard fans of thespian Sivaji Ganesan will get to rejoice as they would get to see the actor's evergreen hit Pasamalar, which is being re-released in a grand manner.

The movie which hit the screens in 1961 is still remembered for stellar performances by Sivaji Ganesan, Savithri and Gemini Ganesan. Pasamalar spoke about sibling love and won the National Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil then. Directed by Bhimsingh, the movie had music by Viswanathan and T K Ramamurthy for soul-stirring lyrics by Kannadasan. Dialogues of Aroordass was the movie's mainstay.

President of Sivaji Ganesan Fans Association Bhoominathan has acquired the rights to re-release Pasamalar.

Perhaps Pasamalar is the first movie in Tamil to be converted to cinemascope in the country. It will open the doors for many more yesteryear classics made in black and white re-released in a new format,' he says.

For many of Sivaji Ganesan's admirers, Pasamalar is one film which is very close to their hearts and the emotional outburst of the actor towards the climax is remembered by them.

Seeman's wish for Vignesh

Seeman, who launched the film Bhuvana Kaadu's audio recently, said he and Vignesh started their career around the same time.

Actor Vignesh, who has been trying to make a mark in the film industry for several years, is ready with his next film, titled Bhuvana Kaadu. Director Seeman, who launched the film's audio recently, said he and Vignesh started their career around the same time.

“We have worked together under director Bharathiraja and we are still in touch with each other. While many of us from the batch have attained different levels in the industry, success is still eluding Vignesh. I hope Bhuvana Kaadu makes it happen,” he said.

Seeman was also all praise for the film's director V M Mohan for having penned all the songs in Bhuvana Kaadu, despite being a non-Tamil. “I’m not saying one should not learn other languages, but only ask not to feel humiliated to speak in Tamil,” he said

Socially cast away for 45 years

10 families in a village near Sattur in Virudhunagar district, Tamil Nadu who continue to face a form of silent social ostracism from fellow villagers almost 45 years after their forefathers were excommunicated over a murder.

Shanmugam, a member of one of these ostracised families at Kumareddiyapuram, said that a person called Poovalinga Thevar had allegedly killed Umayurupagam Chettiyar due to personal enmity 45 years ago. Even though Thevar went to prison for one-and-half years for the crime, the villagers decided to excommunicate him as well as his brother, although the latter reportedly played no role in the murder. “The incident happened when I was a child but even now people treat us as being excommunicated from the village,” Shanmugam said.

Poovalinga Thevar at Kumareddiyapuram near Sattur

The nature of the social boycott has changed with children from these families now being able to go to school, conduct weddings and carry out business. However, the descendants of Poovalinga Thevar remain outside the mainstream, being unable to participate wholeheartedly in social events or temple festivals. “When there are marriages or deaths, few people invite us and when we go to such houses, people look at us suspiciously. They ask the host why they invited us,” Shanmugam claimed and added it was difficult for them to explain to kids in the community why they were being treated like this.

P Pitchai Kothanar, Poovalinga Thevar’s son, said the 10 families are not approached during fund-raising for the village temple festival. “Moreover, folk musicians who arrive for the festival, go to all houses to perform, but do not visit us,” he said.

On 13th death anniversary, fans still await opening of Sivaji statue

The inauguration of the statue of veteran actor SivajiGanesan still seems to be mirage after nearly three years of its installation in Trichy. The delay has caused disappointment among his fans, who expressed their frustration while observing his 13th death anniversary on Sunday.

As a result of efforts from fans of actor Sivaji Ganesan, a nine-feet high bronze statue on a three-feet raised platform was constructed at 'Prabath Roundabout' at Palakkarai in Trichy in 2010 during the DMK regime. However, there was not much to cheer as the statue is yet to see the light of day.

At this juncture, his fans on Sunday observed his 13th death anniversary at a few places in Trichy. At a programme held at Puthur Naal Road, Trichy district Sivaji Makkal Iyakkam observed the anniversary where the fans garlanded his portrait.

Frustrated by the delay, S Annadurai, the district president of the fans club told TOI, "It is very disheartening that a statue of a famous actor who brought laurels to Tamil cinema is not unveiled for no reason. We are exhausted after appealing to the state government to give nod for the inauguration. Though we have constructed the statue of our hero, today we are unable to pay homage to him in front of his statue. But we hope the approval would soon be given for the inauguration."

Another section of fans felt that the inauguration should not be delayed because of any political reasons. G K Murali, former general secretary of Sivaji Mandram said, "The statue of our beloved star is now losing its sheen due to the delay for undisclosed reasons. We are all baffled as to how to untie the mysterious knot over the inauguration of the statue. Moreover, we demand that a man who got a unique place in cinema world should not be disrespected for political reasons."

Review : Om 3D (Telugu)

Om 3D Review : Technical finesse

Technically Telugu films are evolving. Telugu film makers are exploring options to offer new movie watching experience for audience. As a result they are using new age technology. They are even roping in Hollywood technicians by spending huge money. But one shortcoming is lack of story. As a result all the efforts and budget is being wasted. In this milieu Om 3D has released today. Kalyanram himself has produced this technically sophisticated movie. It has used 3D technology and boasts of high production standards. Did Kalyanram use this technology perfectly by combining it with a good story or is it just a bait to entice viewers. Let’s find out how 3D effects have come up in Om movie and to what extent it will impress Telugu audience.
Harish Chandra Prasad (Karthik) and Byreddy (Rao Ramesh) are bitter foes. Byreddy pledges to eliminate Harish Chandra Prasad at any cost. Bhavani Shankar (Sampath Raj) joins hands with Byreddy. Harish Chandra Prasad’s son Arjun (Kalyanram) spoils Byreddy and Bhavani’s plans to kill Harish Chandra Prasad. Arjun loves Anjali (Kriti). Anjali is Bhavani Shankar’s girl. Harish Chandra Prasad decides to marry Arjun with Riya (Nikisha Patel). At this juncture Anjali reveals a truth to Arjun? What’s it? What turn does the story take due to it? What’s the reason behind Byreddy developing grudge against Harish Chandra Prasad? Audience will get answers to all these questions in the second half.
Om 3D story has many twists and turns. Don’t know why but all Kalyanram’s movies feature good screenplay. Screenplay played a major role in making his movies Athanokkade and ‘Hare ram’ hit. It seems Kalyanram has once again banked on screenplay for bagging a hit. Director has depended more on screenplay than on story. Story shuttles between present and past. At times audience even feel confusing. If they miss movie even for a minute it’s hard to follow. If these twists have been used properly, movie would have been thrilling like Bollywood hit movie Race.
Kalyanram has to be appreciated for his unique character. Irrespective of hits or flops, bouquets or brickbats he dares to think differently and going on passionately producing movies on his own. Besides to appearing as angry young man on screen, he has shouldered the responsibility of producing it. He has done what ever he could for Arjun’s character, including shaving his head. Though there are two heroines, they haven’t done much. Karthik excelled in father’s role. From now onwards he will become an option for this type of roles.
Technically Om is excellent. 3D effects will impress audience. Huge budget has been shelled on 3D effects. Audience will feel it refreshing to watch action episodes in 3D. As director is a cinematographer, taking is outstanding. Choreography in melody song is nice. But this is not a subject which demands 3D. It appears Om film makers have used it for trying something new and different. Whatever may be the reason, on screen 3D effects have been effective and offer a new experience for audience.
Inexperience of director has been visible in many occasions. As he depended more on twists and turns rather than on story, at times faltered in the narration. As both hero and producer is Kalyanram, he would have involved in direction also. Most of the time focus was put on elevating heroism. Songs placement is not perfect. But re-recording has done a great amount of help in elevating action scenes and lending the required tempo.
Om 3D team has to be appreciated for it’ s hard work in case of technical aspects. But it would have been better if they had taken care of story also. 3D action episodes and twists may enthrall B and C centre audience. To experience the 3D technology and technical brilliance Om has to watched in good theatres.

A hint of 'Ivan Vera Mathiri' from Saravanan

Director Saravanan's 'Ivan Vera Mathiri' will feature a story on the similar lines of the title itself according to the director who shared his experiences on a leading magazine. The movie will showcase an individual who stands apart from the rest, who shatters his ground when everyone looks things in a normal way. Apparently the story of the movie was first put forth to Arya and then after turns Vikram Prabhu's daring look from Kumki seem to have convinced the director.
Actress Surabhi is also set to have taken special language classes for being well versed in Tamil, considering the movie is to be taken 90% in and around Chennai. The movie is not a complete action buster and will also have enough of cupid's twist induced. The movie is being produced by Lingusamy's production house which is slowly in the line of introducing the best out of fresh talents. Either way, Saravanan's Ivan Veramadiri is building the hype out of a sharp looking hero and an innovative director.
