Bharathiraja’s Brother Jeyaraj’s new avatar

Producer Jeyaraj who is the brother of director Bharathiraja, is now taking the avatar as an actor from the movie katthukutty. He’s playing an important role in this movie which is going to be directed by R.Saravanan. This is the first movie for him to be directed but he didn’t have any experience even in doing assistant direction. Naren is playing the hero role and this is based on a comedy based story.

Prabhu is one artiste who still likes to call himself the son of Nadigar Thilagam Sivaji Ganesan despite having carved a niche for himself in the industry. The actor gushes, "What got the family going was the love of the people from all quarters. Just like my father, I was accepted in every household as Chinnathambi. Today, children identify Vikram as the 'elephant man', courtesy his maiden venture Kumki that gave him a flying start to his career. I have to thank director Prabhu Solomon for that. Vikram is now gearing up for his next project Arima Nambi." Though the third generation is testing waters in the industry, Prabhu maintains that they do not discuss work at home. "I don't decide his stories. I may have been a hero in the past, but films have undergone a drastic change. Despite the fact that I was plump, I was accepted as a lead actor during my time. The same cannot be said of today. There is a need to look fit. Vikram used to be a chubby child, so when acting opportunity beckoned; he sweated it out to get that toned look. Actors juggle two-three films at a time, work on their looks and spend time with their families on weekends. It's quite packed for them today," he says.

உழைப்பாளர்களின் கஷ்டங்களுக்கு விடிவு கிடைத்த நாளே இந்த மே தினமாக உலகம் முழுவதும் கொண்டாடப்படும் ஒரே திருநாள். 18ஆம் நூற்றாண்டின் இறுதியிலும் - 19ஆம் நூற்றாண்டின் ஆரம்பத்திலும் வேகமாக வளர்ச்சியடைந்த நாடுகளில் தொழிலாளிகள் பலரும் நாளொன்றுக்கு 12 முதல் 18 மணி நேரக் கட்டாய வேலை செய்ய நிர்ப்பந்திக்கப்பட்டனர். இதற்கெதிரான குரல்களும் பல்வேறு நாடுகளில் ஆங்காங்கே எழத் துவங்கியது. 1889 ஜூலை 14 அன்று பாரீசில் சோசலிசத் தொழிலாளர்களின் ‘’சர்வதேச தொழிலாளர் பாராளுமன்றம்’’ கூடியது. 18 நாடுகளில் இருந்து 400 பிரதிநிதிகள் இக்கூட்டத்தில் பங்கேற்றனர். பிரெட்ரிக் ஏங்கெல்ஸ் உட்படப் பலர் கலந்துகொண்ட இக்கூட்டத்தில் கார்ல் மார்க்ஸ் வலியுறுத்திய 8 மணி நேர போராட்டத்தை முன்னெடுத்துச் செல்வது என்றும், சிக்காகோ சதியை இம்மாநாடு கடுமையாக கண்டித்ததோடு, 1890 மே 1 அன்று அனைத்துலக அளவில் தொழிலாளர்கள் இயக்கங்களை நடத்திட வேண்டும் என்றும் அறைகூவல் விடப்பட்டது. இந்த அறைகூவலே மே முதல் நாளை, சர்வதேச தொழிலாளர் தினமாக, மே தினமாக அனுஷ்டிப்பதற்கு வழிவகுத்தது.

Paradesi bags four awards at Norway Tamil Film Fest

Tamil film 'Paradesi' (Vagabond), directed by Bala, which depicts the life of villagers in tea estates during the pre-Independence era, has bagged four awards across various categories including the best film and best actor at the Norway Tamil Film Festival. The movie was chosen as the best film while Bala received the best director award. Atharva, son of late actor Murali, received the best actor award for his lead role in the film. The best cinematographer award was presented to Chezhian, cinematographer of the movie, a release said. 'Paradesi', produced by B-Studios owned by Bala, depicts the life of workers employed in tea estates in Tamil Nadu during the pre-Independence era. The film was based on the book 'Eriyum Panikadu'- a Tamil translation of the 1969 novel 'Red Tea' penned by Paul Harris Daniel. The movie was released last year. The dubbed version in Telugu and Malayalam was also released last year.
