President Pranab Mukherjee will Thursday embark on a three-day tour of West Bengal to attend several functions and inaugurate an airport terminal building here.
He will arrive in the city Thursday evening and launch the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Swami Vivekananda at his ancestral house here Friday.
He would then head to Tamralipta in East Midnapore district to unveil statues of former West Bengal chief minister Ajoy Mukherjee and some freedom fighters.
The president would also attend closing ceremony of the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda at Ramakrishna Vivekananda Mission in Barrackpore.
He will also be the guest of honour at Subhash Chandra Bose's 116th birth anniversary celebrations Jan 19 at the freedom fighter's ancestral house here. His birthday however is on Jan 23.
Mukherjee will then head to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport to inaugurate a new terminal building and leave for New Delhi Sunday evening.
