ஐ.நா. சபையின் போர் குற்ற விசாரணையை ஏற்க ராஜபக்சே மறுத்துள்ளார். இலங்கையில் ராணுவத்துக்கும், விடுதலைப்புலிகளுக்கும் இடையே கடந்த 2009-ம் ஆண்டு மே மாதம் இறுதி கட்ட போர் நடந்தது. அப்போது ஆயிரக் கணக்கான தமிழர்கள் இலங்கை ராணுவத்தினரால் குண்டு வீசி கொல்லப்பட்டனர். எனவே இலங்கை அரசு போர் குற்றம் இழைத்ததாக உலக நாடுகள் குற்றஞ்சாட்டின.
இதை தொடர்ந்து ஐ.நா.சபை 3 பேரை நியமித்து விசாரணை நடத்தியது. இந்நிலையில் கடந்த சில நாட்களுக்கு முன்பு இலங்கை அரசு போர் குற்றவாளி என ஐ.நா. பொதுச் செயலாளர் பான் கி மூன் அறிவித்தார். இதற்கு இலங்கை அரசு கண்டனம் தெரிவித்தது. அதை ஏற்க முடியாது என்றும் கூறி வந்தது.
இந்த நிலையில் நேற்று கொழும்புவில் மே தின பேரணி நடந்தது. அதில், அதிபர் மகிந்த ராஜபக்சேவும், அவரது ஆதரவாளர்கள் ஆயிரக்கணக்கானவர்களும் கலந்து கொண்டனர். பேரணியின் முடிவில், அதிபர் ராஜபக்சே பேசினார். அப்போது அவர் கூறியதாவது:-
இறுதி கட்ட போரின் போது, விடுதலைபுலிகளால் துப்பாக்கி முனையில் மனித கேடயமாக பிடித்து வைத்திருந்த 3 லட்சம் மக்களை காப்பாற்றினோம். பசியால் வாடிய அவர்களுக்கு உணவு வழங்கினோம். தீவிரவாதத்தின் பிடியில் இருந்த மக்களை மீட்டோம். போரின் போது இரு தரப்பிலும்தான் குற்றங்கள் நடந்தன. ஆனால் விடுதலைப்புலிகள் மீது போர் குற்றம் சுமத்தப்படவில்லை.முன்பெல்லாம் குழந்தைகள் தீவிரவாத பாதையில் ஈடு படுத்தப்பட்டனர். தற்போது அவர்கள் பள்ளிக்கு செல்கின்றனர். கிரிக்கெட் விளையாடுகின்றனர். இவையெல்லாம் மனித உரிமை மீறலா? குற்றமா? எந்த சூழ்நிலையிலும் இலங்கை வெளிநாடுகளின் நிர்பந்தத்துக்கு அடிபணியாது. எனவே, ஐ.நா. சபையின் போர் குற்ற விசாரணையை ஏற்க முடியாது.

வியாசர்பாடியில் போலீசுக்கு எதிராக போஸ்டர்: ஆம்ஸ்ட்ராங் ஆதரவாளர்கள் கைது; போலீஸ் நிலையம் முற்றுகை
சென்னை அம்பேத்கர் அரசு சட்டக்கல்லூரி மாணவர்கள் மோதல் வழக்கில் தமிழக பகுஜன் சமாஜ் கட்சி தலைவர் ஆம்ஸ்ட்ராங்கை போலீசார் கைது செய்தனர். அவரை நேற்று ஜார்ஜ் டவுன் 7-வது கோர்ட்டில் ஆஜர்ப்படுத்தி 12-ந்தேதி வரை புழல் சிறையில் அடைத்தனர்.
ஐகோர்ட்டில் அவர் சார்பில் தாக்கல் செய்யப்பட்ட 2-வது ஜாமீன் மனுவும் நேற்று விசாரணைக்கு வந்தது. குற்றவியல் சட்டத்தின்படி முதலில் செசன்சு கோர்ட்டில்தான் ஜாமீன் மனுதாக்கல் செய்யவேண்டும் என்று கூறி மனுவை நீதிபதி தள்ளுபடி செய்தார்.
இந்த நிலையில் ஆம்ஸ்ட்ராங் கைதை கண்டித்து, கட்சி தொண்டர்கள் வியாசர்பாடி சர்மாநகர், சிவகாமி அம்மை யார் காலனி பகுதியில் கண்டன போஸ்டர்களை ஒட்டினர். மகாகவி பாரதியார் நகர் போலீசார் விரைந்து சென்று போஸ்டர் ஒட்டிய வியாசர் பாடியை சேர்ந்த சுரேஷ், சத்தியமூர்த்தி, காஜா மொய்தீன், அயாத்பாஷா ஆகிய 4 பேரையும் கைது செய்தனர்.
இன்று காலை 9 மணியளவில் 4 பேரையும் புளியந் தோப்பு போலீஸ் நிலையத் திற்கு போலீசார் அழைத்து வந்தனர். இதுபற்றி தெரிந்ததும் பகுஜன் சமாஜ் கட்சி வட சென்னை மாவட்ட பொதுச் செயலாளர் சக்திவேல், செயலாளர் ஜவகர்தாஸ், நாதன், வக்கீல்கள் செந்தில்குமார், பாலா, பட்டு ரமேஷ் உள்பட 100-க்கும் மேற்பட்டோர் போலீஸ் நிலையம் முன்பு திரண்டனர். அவர்கள் திடீரென போலீஸ் நிலையத்தின் உள்ளே புகுந்து முற்றுகை போராட்டத்தில் ஈடுபட்டனர்.
அங்கிருந்த போலீசாருடன் கடும் வாக்குவாதம் செய்தனர். போலீசாரை கண்டித்து கோஷமிட்டனர். இதனால் பரபரப்பான சூழ்நிலை ஏற்பட்டது. போலீஸ் துணை கமிஷனர் பாஸ்கர், உதவி கமிஷனர் அரி, இன்ஸ்பெக்டர் மனோ கரன் மற்றும் போலீசார் விரைந்து வந்து போராட்டத்தில் ஈடுபட் டவர்களுடன் சமாதான பேச்சு நடத்தினர்.

The movie stars Arya, Vishal, Janani Iyer and Madhushalini and is touted to be a full length comedy from this director who is known for his serious themes. News is that the jury members were highly impressed with the film and were all praises for Bala and the team. Arya has been on a new high post the success of Madrasapattinam and Boss Engira Baskaran whereas Vishal has been lying low for a while.

Osama bin Laden's body buried at sea: US official
Washington, May 2(ANI): Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden's body has been buried at sea, as the United States does not want his burial place to become a terrorist shrine, a US official has said.
The official said that the body was handled according to Islamic practice and tradition, Fox News reports.
That practice calls for the body to be buried within 24 hours, the official added.
"Finding a country willing to accept the remains of the world's most wanted terrorist would have been difficult. So, the US decided to bury him at sea," the official said.
The Saudi-born terrorist, who had evaded capture for a decade, was killed in a top secret operation involving a small team of US special forces in Abbottabad city, located 50 kilometres northeast of Islamabad and 150 kilometres east of Peshawar, Pakistan.
Under Islamic tradition, the body is washed by Muslim men and buried as soon as possible.
The body is usually buried in a simple white sheet -whether buried in the ground, or at sea. (ANI)

Armstrong was second accused in the case
CHENNAI: Advocate K Armstrong, the State president of the BSP who was arrested on Sunday, was the second accused in the chargesheet filed by the police on a clash between two groups of students inside the Dr Ambedkar Government Law College in Chennai on November 12, 2008.
According to police sources, the first accused, advocate S Rajinikanth, and Armstrong had orchestrated the violence that erupted on the campus following a difference of opinion between the two groups of students - one from the Dalit community and the other belonging to the Thevar caste.
Police investigations revealed the two lawyers had exploited the differences between the two groups over some posters put up inside the college in connection with the Thevar Jayanthi celebrations that year. The bone of contention: The ‘Dr Ambedkar’ part of their college name was not on the posters.
While Dalit students objected to the omission of the name of their political icon, it would have remained at the level of verbal arguments but for the instigation by the two lawyers, police sources said.
When the chargesheet was first filed in the lower court, the police were asked to arrest the first two accused. Of the total 44 people named in the chargesheet, 11, including these two lawyers, were stated as absconding.
The matter went to the Supreme Court after two human rights activists, K Saravanan and S Prabhavathi, filed a writ petition claiming they were booked under false charges of cheating for approaching the human rights commission on the issue. The petitioners, who claimed to have been present inside the law college premise when the clash broke out, alleged that the police had not taken action to prevent violence due to political reasons.
On Friday last, the petitioners’ counsel told an SC bench comprising justices B Sudershan Reddy and S S Nijjar that Armstrong, one of the accused declared as absconding, had contested the recent Assembly elections.
The court ticked off the State and asked the Tamil Nadu Director General of Police to file an affidavit on the issue within eight weeks.
Following the Supreme Court’s direction, both Rajinikanth and Armstrong sought bail from the Madras High Court. While Rajinikanth was granted bail, Armstrong wasn’t. He was arrested on Sunday.
Police said Armstrong, who is the Corporation councillor representing Ward no 53 (Nagamalai Ammaiyar Nagar), had control over a group of Dalit students of the law college.
He even supported some of them in their education by providing financial aid, police sources said.

சட்டக் கல்லூரி வன்முறை: கொளத்தூர் தொகுதி வேட்பாளர் கைது
சென்னை, மே 1: சென்னை கொளத்தூர் தொகுதியில் துணை முதல்வர் மு.க. ஸ்டாலினை எதிர்த்து போட்டியிட்ட பகுஜன் சமாஜ் கட்சியின் தமிழக தலைவர் ஆம்ஸ்ட்ராங், சட்டக்கல்லூரி வன்முறை தொடர்பாக ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை கைது செய்யப்பட்டார்.
சென்னை அம்பேத்கர் சட்டக்கல்லூரியில் கடந்த 2008 நவம்பர் 2-ம் தேதி இருதரப்பு மாணவர்களிடையே தகராறு ஏற்பட்டது. அந்த தகராறு வன்முறையாக மாறியதில் மாணவர்கள் ஒருவருக்கொருவர் தாக்குதலில் ஈடுபட்டனர்.
இந்த சம்பவத்தில் வெளியாள்களுக்கும் தொடர்பு உள்ளதாக குற்றச்சாட்டு எழுந்தது. இது தொடர்பாக உலக மனித உரிமை, மீட்பு மையம் உச்ச நீதிமன்றத்தில் வழக்கு தொடர்ந்தது.
வழக்கை விசாரித்த நீதிமன்றம் ""முக்கியக் குற்றவாளிகளான ஆம்ஸ்ட்ராங், வக்கீல் ரஜினிகாந்த் ஆகியோர் தலைமறைவாக உள்ளதாக போலீஸôர் கூறுகின்றனர்; ஆனால் தமிழக சட்டப்பேரவைத் தேர்தலில் பகுஜன் சமாஜ் கட்சியின் வேட்பாளராக ஆம்ஸ்ட்ராங் போட்டியிட்டார். அவரை ஏன் இதுவரை போலீஸôர் கைது செய்யவில்லை'' என்று கேள்வி எழுப்பியது.
இந்த நிலையில் ஆம்ஸ்ட்ராங்கும், வக்கீல் ரஜினிகாந்தும் சனிக்கிழமை சென்னை உயர்நீதிமன்றத்தில் முன்ஜாமீன் கேட்டு மனு செய்தனர்.
ரஜினிகாந்துக்கு முன்ஜாமீன் வழங்கிய நீதிபதி சுந்தரம், வேறு நீதிபதியிடம் முன்ஜாமீன் கேட்டு ஆம்ஸ்ட்ராங் விண்ணப்பிக்கலாம் என்றார்.
இதற்கிடையே ஆம்ஸ்ட்ராங்கை கைது செய்ய சென்னை எஸ்பிளனேடு போலீஸ் இன்ஸ்பெக்டர் அருள் தலைமையில் ஒரு தனிப்படை அமைக்கப்பட்டது. புரசைவாக்கத்தில் ஒரு ஓட்டலில் ஆம்ஸ்ட்ராங் தங்கி இருப்பதாக அந்த தனிப்படைக்கு ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை தகவல் கிடைத்தது. இதைத் தொடர்ந்து அங்கு விரைந்து சென்ற போலீஸôர் ஆம்ஸ்ட்ராங்கை கைது செய்தனர்.
பின்னர் அவரை ஜார்ஜ் டவுன் 16-வது நீதிமன்ற நீதிபதி ரமேஷ் முன்னிலையில், சைதாப்பேட்டையில் உள்ள அவரது வீட்டில் ஆஜர்படுத்தி சிறையில் அடைத்தனர்.
