Every passing day there is a fresh update about Mani Ratnam's forthcoming film. The latest is that veterans Pasupathi and Lal will be part of the movie, which is set in the backdrop of fishermen in and around Rameswaram.
"While Pasupathi will play a minuscule character which will be of high importance, Lal will do a full-length role. Both actors are happy about working with Mani Ratnam, one of the top directors of the country," say sources.
'Action King' Arjun and Tollywood actress-producer Lakshmi Manchu are already on board this romantic flick, which has Karthik's son Gautham as the protagonist. The leading lady is yet to be finalized, though various names are doing rounds.
AR Rahman, who was introduced to cinema by Mani Ratnam in 'Roja' is composing the music and he has in fact composed a melody number already. "Vairamuthu has penned the lyrics and it has come very good," add sources.
