Cuddalore Thirupapuliyur police registered case against Naam Tamizhar Katchi leader Seeman on Sunday night based on a complaint lodged by the Village Administrative Officer (VAO) in connection with the party’s indoor meeting that was held in Cuddalore on Saturday.
The party had conducted a day-long indoor meeting in a marriage hall in Cuddalore after police denied permission for a public meeting at Manjakuppam ground scheduled to take place on Saturday evening.
On Sunday, VAO of Thirupapuliyur, Ramachandran, filed a complaint. Police said, “In the complaint, the VAO said that the party’s meeting caused nuisance in the town by creating loud noise through loudspeakers, disrupted free traffic movements and the meeting also disturbed peace. Besides, the he (Seeman) kept speaking till 10.20 pm, beyond the 10 pm deadline.”
Based on the complaint, police registered a case and booked three persons - Seeman, party district secretary Kadaldheeban and the owner of the sound service shop. Police said, “They are booked under two sections — Section 188 of IPC and 3(a) of Tamil Nadu Towns Nuisance Act.”
