Actor Vivek humoured all with his gift of gab during the launch of ‘Pallakaatu Madhavan’, a film by director Chandramohan, produced by Basheer Kuruvanna of A.P.S Dream Entertainers.
“Generally, when comedy actors play the lead in a film, ‘Paravai’ Muniyamma, Theni Kuncharamma, or any of the old toothless ladies are generally are chosen as the pair. Not all actresses are OK with playing a comedy actor’s pair. There is nothing wrong in this, it is just a trend in Tinsel town”, began Vivek.
“When I chose to play the lead in ‘Palakaatu Madhavan’, initially Semeen Sheela was chosen to star opposite me. But then, to my surprise, I was informed that Sonia Agarwal would play the female lead in the film. I definitely think Sonia’s choice to star in the film, looking past the ‘comedy-star-pair’ image, was based on the impressive script”, says Vivek, as always being straight forward with his opinion.
Vivek also praised Semeen Sheela, “ Sheela mentioned in her speech that she feels proud to act with me in this film. To be truthful, it is I who is proud to act in a film with an actor who has portrayed different roles in more than 400 films.”
Actor-director Bhagiyaraj in Vivek’s words is one of the forerunners in the screenplay fields. “ ‘Palakattu Madhavan’ was the role played by Bhagyaraj in one of his famous films ‘Andha Yezhu Natkal’. I am proud to essay a character named after his role. I am also happy that he is also one among the star cast of this fim. I believe he will bring life to the story”, says Vivek, who aslo talked about co-star M.S.Baskar of ‘Manathil Urudi Vendum’ fame.
The actor praised the members of the crew, cameraman K.B. Nambiyathri, art director Vairabalan, editor K.Rajagopal, costume designer Sai, terming them experienced and talented technicians.
The actor signed off, thanking and wishing director Chandramohan and producer Basheer.
Actors M.S Baskar, Semeen Sheela and Sonia Agarwal also spoke during the event which was compered by director Balumalar Vannan, with producer Basheer lighting up its beginning and director Chandramohan delivering the ‘Thank You’ note.
