Aravind Swamy, who ruled the hearts of young girls during the early 1990s, is back in the limelight. And the credits go to Mani Ratnam, who launched his acting career with 'Thalapathi' and utilized his talent in 'Roja', 'Bombay' and 'Alaipayuthey'.
"Aravind Swamy will be seen playing a very crucial role in Mani's next film, which is set in the backdrop of the lives of fishermen in Rameswaram. Both are happy about working together after a long time," say sources.
The actor who is fully concentrating on his business for the past one decade and more, has been refusing offers from Kollywood, including Vishal starrer 'Samaran'. But he could not say no when Mani Ratnam approached him, add sources.
The yet-to-be-titled movie already has many popular actors in its cast and the list includes Arjun, Pasupathy et al. Karthik's son Gautham is expected to play the lead role. Music is by AR Rahman and lyrics by Vairamuthu.
