The Judicial Magistrate in Melur has issued non-bailable warrants against the son, daughter and son-in-law of Dr.N. Sethuraman, founder of Meenakshi Mission Hospital here, after they failed to appear before him in a suit.
Dr.Sethuraman’s son S. Ramesh, daughter S. Pratheeba, and son-in-law B. Mariappa Sairam were booked by the Othakadai police under various sections of the Indian Penal Code for allegedly assaulting the staff of Meenakshi Mission Hospital over a dispute with Dr.Sethuraman.
J. Adel, a representative of S.R. Trust that governs the hospital, filed a petition in the Madras High Court Bench here seeking a direction to the Melur Judicial Magistrate to dispose of the case against the trio expeditiously.
The police had filed a charge sheet in the case in 2012, but the case was not disposed of till date, he claimed in his petition.
Justice R. Mala, in her order passed on August 23, 2013 had directed the Melur JM to issue a non-bailable warrant against Mr. Sairam, who had gone abroad.
Subsequently, Melur JM K.M. Mahendra Boopathi had summoned the three persons to appear before him on September 10. Since they did not appear, the JM issued non-bailable warrants against the three and adjourned the case till September 16.
