Indian Whistlers association, South Zone is all set to present a whistling tribute to the Legend of Indian Cinema Sivaji Ganesan. Titled ‘Chevalier Shivajiku Whistle Anjali,’ the tribute is a charity function which will be held on September 29.
The South zone members from the Indian Whistlers Association comprises members from various walks of life and age groups who have a passion for the art of whistling coupled with the need to do something better for society. With respect to this tradition, the members organise a huge whistling program every year. This year’s programme will honour Sivaji Ganesan and the funds collected through this show will be donated for the welfare of the deprived.
The tribute will include whistling performances of top hits from Sivaji Ganesan’s movies, accompanied by a live band performance by Sai Raja. The performers include both professional whistlers and amateur enthusiasts. The whistlers include an eight-year-old whistling enthusiast to a 67-year-old professional whistler among others.
Donor passes for the show are available across all Odyssey Outlets and Lakshman Shruthi at `100 per head. The event will be held at Vidhyodaya Auditorium, No 1, Thirumalai Pillai Road, T Nagar, from 6 pm
