BJP party president Rajnath Singh on Thursday said that if his party was elected to power, measures would be taken to unravel the mystery behind the disappearance of firebrand freedom fighter Netaji Subash Chandra Bose.
Singh was in Cuttack to pay tribute to the freedom fighter on the occasion of his 117th birth anniversary. Speaking to media persons here, Singh demanded that the Union government take steps to unveil the mystery about his fate.
"Netaji's disappearance is still a mystery for all of us. The entire country is eager to know what happened to Netaji and under what circumstances. The mystery should be unveiled by the Union government to let the people know the truth."
He said that if the saffron party was elected to power, it would take steps in this regard.
"If the BJP comes to power, we will definitely take steps to unravel the mystery behind Netaji's disappearance," said the saffron party chief.
He visited the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose birthplace museum at Odia Bazaar and garlanded the statue of the freedom fighter. Speaking on the occasion, he described Netaji as a great freedom fighter, who will be remembered by generations for his work .
Many programmes were organised on the museum premises on the occasion of Netaji's birth anniversary. A painting exhibition on Netaji's life and a blood donation camp was also organized.
A sand art sculpture on Netaji was also displayed on the museum premises.
Revenue divisional commissioner Arvind Padhee unveiled the Odia translation of the autobiography of Netaji "Bharat Pathik" on the occasion. Many ministers, politicians and dignitaries visited the museum to pay homage to the great leader.
