Those who want to take part in the Thevar Jayanthi celebrations at Pasumpon in Ramanathapuram district on October 30 were asked to use their own vehicles and not to hire any vehicle to go there.
Even ‘padayatra’ would not be allowed.
Chairing a special meeting convened here on Saturday to brief those intending to participate in the ‘guru puja’ about the guidelines evolved by the Ramanathapuram Collector, K.Nandhakumar, Virudhunagar Collector T. N. Hariharan said that vehicle owners should obtain permission from the local police by registering the name of the vehicle owner and driver, the registration number and the number of travellers, and paste the permit slip on the windscreen of the vehicle.
