BJP forms a mega allliance in TN

BJP senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu today announced the formation of a mega alliance in Tamilnadu with parties like Sarath Kumar’s Akila India Samathuva Makkal Katchi, Karthik’s All India Naadalum Makkal Katchi, Subramanian Swamy’s Janata Dal and other parties.

Speaking to reporters in Chennai, he said his party would sweep the Lok Sabha elections and form a stable and ablegovernment at the Centre.


‘The UPA has failed in various fronts. The country is facing multi-dimensional challenges which can be addressed by the BJP alone. At the time of global economic crisis, the Union government is functioning without a Finance Minister. This shows the utter failure of the current regime,’he said.

BJP State president L Ganesan released the party’s candidate list and said Akila India Samathuva Makkal Katchi would contest from five seats- Tuticorin, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, Namakkal and Tiruppur, All India Naadalum Makkal Katchi in two seats- Virudunagar and Theni, Janata Dal (United) in two seats- Arakkonam and Thiruvallur.

The BJP’s candidates are- Ramanathapuram - S Thirunavukkarasar, South Chennai - L Ganesan, Kanyakumari - Pon Radhakrishnan, North Chennai- Tamilisai Soundararajan, Trichy- Lalitha Kumaramangalam, Vellore- K Rajendran, Coimbatore- J K S Selvakumar, Krishnagiri- G Balakrishnan, Erode- N Palanisamy, Nilgris- Gurumoorthy, Pollachi- V S Ramesh, Puducherry- R Visweswaran and Mayiladuthurai - Karthikeyan.

Speaking on the occasion, Sarath Kumar said his party would work for the victory of BJP-led combine and ensure that the national party would form a government under the leadership of Advani.

Karthik said this was the only alliance that was formed for the welfare of the people and would emerge triumphant in all seats.
