The last volume of the Sumerian temple hymns, with Tamil version and English translation.
If we look into the Sumerian language and how easy it is to transfer the words into Tamil , we will have no doubt on having in the Sumerian language a Dravidian language before us. In many cases we didn‘t need to change anything of the Sumerian word. The spelling in Tamil is the same. In many cases the Sumerian language follows the rules of grammar we find in the Tolkappiyam. But of course we find differences as well, where the word appears different from the rules in the grammar. These differences needs explanations and further research work. We have a long time difference between the Sumerian temple hymns and the ealiest Tamil Sangam poems we have today. To see in the Sumerian language and earlier form of Tamil is surely not wrong. Further research includes the linguistic features of the poems and their prosody in them. We have shown in one of the volumes a short view on this subject.
All these temple hymns show a temple and icon centric religion, which we will discuss in comming works.
Tamil is 2600 years
Sumerian is 6000 years. Went extinct in 2000BC, 1400 years before Keezhadi period. -
