All-India Forward Bloc leader Ashok Ghosh passes away


Veteran All-India Forward Bloc leader Ashok Ghosh, who had been on ventilator support, breathed his last at a city-based private hospital here on Thursday. He was 94.
Ghosh, the senior most Left Front leader in West Bengal, was on February 2 rushed to a hospital following lower respiratory tract infection. He had been critical and on ventilatory support for quite some time.
For over six decades, Ghosh has been the secretary of the party founded by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
“Saddened on the passing away of veteran politician Asok Ghosh. Condolences to his family and friends,” tweeted Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee.
In another post, on Twitter, in Bengali the Chief Minister, said that Ghosh was personally very fond of her.
