Studio Green keen to distribute `Kumki`

K. Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green is keen to acquire the distribution rights of Tamil film ‘Kumki’, an interesting tale of a mahout and his elephant.

"The deal is still under talks. It will be finalised by next week," a source close to the ‘Kumki’ team told IANS.

Directed by Prabhu Solomon of ‘Myna’ fame, ‘Kumki’ has been produced by Thirrupathy Brothers and stars Vikram Prabhu, grandson of legendary actor Sivaji Ganesan and son of Prabhu.

Studio Green, a Tamil film production and distribution company, has lately shifted from producing films to promoting and distributing off beat quality cinema, especially with newcomers.

Recently, it distributed ‘Attakathi’, which was made on a budget of Rs.2.5 crore and garnered about Rs.4 crores in its first week in Tamil Nadu. The film is still running to packed houses here.

Southern cinema stalwarts Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan had graced audio launch of the film, for which music has been composed by D. Imman.
