Water schemes to be over in nine months


Drinking water schemes, being executed on an outlay of Rs. 55.32 crore in Tirunelveli segment, will be completed within next nine months, Tirunelveli MLA Nainar Nagenthran has said.
Distributing free mixer grinder, wet grinder and fans at Vettuvaankulam near Maanur in the district on Saturday, Mr. Nainar Nagenthran said Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, having understood the drinking water crisis prevailing in Maanur union and other rural areas of Tirunelveli constituency, had allotted Rs. 55.32 crore for executing drinking water schemes. Work on these programmes have been accelerated as the they are being personally reviewed by the Chief Minister herself.
Hence, the ongoing drinking water projects would be completed within next nine months, said Mr. Nainar Nagenthran, who disbursed the freebies to 72 beneficiaries.
