Recalling the legacy of Sivaji

Veteran film personalities who worked with thespian Sivaji Ganesan were honoured on the occasio of the legendary actr's 87th birth anniversdary in Chennai Thursday.
A grand function was oragnised by Sivaji Prabhu Charities Trust in which .
S P Muthuraman (director), Sarada (actress), M C Sekhar (cinematorgrapher), Kusalakumari (actress/dancer), M S Rajeswari (singer) and Typist Gopu (actor) were presented with Dr Sivaji Ganesan Memorial Awards. Senior members of Sivaji Ganesan's fans association T V Chandrasekaran from Chennai and Maa Nataraj from Bengaluru received Nadigar Thilagam Awards on the occasion.
Giving away the awards Doha Bank chief executive officer R Seetharaman said Sivaji Ganesan is an aspiration to everyone. Citing his own example, he said the acting legend has cast a profound influence on a corporate executive like him. 'I am proud to be infront of you as a great admirer of the acting genius', he added.
'When I was six-years-old, I saw Thiruvilayadal and it had a profound influence on me'. Parasakthi, Veerapandya Kattabomman were the other movies of the acting legend that I saw, he added. Elder son of Sivaji Ganesan G Ramkumar welcomed the gathering and actor Prabhu proposed vote of thanks.
