Director Bala, who is currently giving finishing touches to Thaarai Thappattai, is likely to helm a multi-starrer film based on the controversial Kuttra Parambarai novel.
Set in pre-independence era, the film has scope for many characters and hence Bala is said to be in talks with Vishal, Arya, Rana, Arvind Swamy and Atharvaa.
The novel deals about sensitive issues, it may be noted. Earlier Kamal Haasan and Bharathiraja had dreamt of making films based on 'Kuttra Paramabarai'.
Talking about it once, Bharathiraja said, 'it is my desire and dream to Kutra Parambarai. It is set during the British era in India. A tale of father and son set in early 19th century. It needs a heavy budget.'
