My son might become a good actor in future, asserts Prabhu

‘Ilaiya Thilagam’ Prabhu has expressed his confidence that his son Vikram Prabhu might soon become an actor of substance and manage to establish himself in the industry based purely on his talents and not as his son or the grandson of legendary Sivaji Ganesan.  Vikram Prabhu is debuting as hero with Prabhu Solomon’s Kumki opposite another debutant Lakshmi Menon.  The film is all set for its theatrical release soon.

With ‘acting’ running in his blood thanks to his father and grandfather’s legendary acring prowesses, industry observers have predicted a good future for Vikram.  In the mean time, in a free-wheeling interview to a popular magazine, Prabhu has expressed his prediction that Vikram would be making it big in films on his own.

“My son was as portly as I am; still, soon after he was signed up for Kumki, he underwent rigorous work-out and exercising to bring his weightl down by 25 kgs.  Though I didn’t visit the Kumki shootings sport even once, I’m sure he would succeed not only in his debut venture but also in future and would go on to establish him as a saleable actor in Tamil films in a big way.

“Superstar Rajinikanth has always been a part of our family.  He has been watching Vikram right from his childhood days.  After he got the Kumki assignment, Vikram went to meet Rajini Anna and seek his blessings.  I firmly believe Rajini’s wishes would help him a lot,” concluded Prabhu.

It may be realled that at a recent special screening of the film, Rajini watched the film and appreciated Vikram’s work.
