Thalaivaa producer cries for help…

In an emotional press meet yesterday the 15th of August 2013, the producer of Thalaivaa, Chandraprakash Jain requested the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, J Jayalalithaa to help them release the film today, 16th August. “The film has been released everywhere, except Tamil Nadu. Pirated copies are in circulation and my business is in danger”, said Chandra Prakash Jain. “If the film doesn’t release on the 16th, I’ll be pushed to the streets. The distributors and the theater owners, who have bought the film, will incur huge losses,” said a teary eyed producer. Director Vijay, who was also present at the meet said that he and his team aren’t aware of any political interference behind the delay of the release. On the other hand, the producer speculates that the film would have earned around Rs 30 to 40 crores in Tamil Nadu, had it released on time. “My distributors now tell me that the film will not bring such huge profits at this point. But further delay will bring us greater losses,” Mr Jain summed up.
