Kadal to rise on Deepavali?

Ace director Mani Ratnam’s ongoing project Kadal is progressing at a great pace, as the director wants the film to be completed before the festival of lights. Post the Manappad schedule, the film’s crew is presently on the coasts of Thiruchendur and Tuticorin. We hear that the crew will move on to Munnar and parts of Kerala for their upcoming schedules.

We also hear that the director has roped in technicians from Hong Kong to create some special effects for a song sequence in the film.

The film revolves around the lives of fishermen in the coastal areas of south Tamil Nadu where there’s a lot tension due to people going missing. Gautham, son of veteran actor Karthik and Samantha feature as the leads of the film. Aravind Swamy is doing a power role. Rajiv Menon is handling the camera and AR Rahman is composing the tunes.
