Against the backdrop of the protest by Film Employees Federation of South India, director Bharathiraja recommenced the shooting of his Tamil film Annakodium Kodiveeranum on April 7 using local amateur workers at Pottipuram Puthur in the Theni district.
Bharathiraja had wound up work after barely shooting for a week earlier this year following the indefinite strike call by the Federation protesting the Tamil Nadu Film Producers council not agreeing for wage revision and its decision to float a separate association of film employees.
Lakshman Narayanan, son of a leading mill-owner, was acting as the hero of the film. Industry sources alleged that the director was earlier forced to stop shooting. One of the film’s actors, director Ameer, who was reportedly supporting FEFSI stand, had allegedly refused to shoot for the film, but was later seen at the shooting spot that day (April 7).
Meanwhile Bala, another director, also began working on shooting of his film Paradesi at Kumbakarai near Theni. The sources said Bala had sufficient manpower to shoot the film.
