The All India Agamudaiyar Peravai has demanded that members of Agamudaiyar sect among the Mukkulathors shall register only as Agamudaiyar and not as Thevar as it is not a caste name but a title.Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, the organizers said that a few Mukkulathor organizations have asked their caste members to register as Thevar (Agamudaiyar), Thevar (Piramalai Kallar) but it is not possible as Thevar is a title name and not listed as caste. The Peravai's advisor T.Arappa, asked the members of Mukkulathor community to register their caste names as it is to avoid unnecessary confusion.
