Samantha was the original choice of Mani Ratnam as the heroine for Kadal. But due to illness, the actress had to opt out of the film. Thulasi Nair stepped in as her replacement and the film is all set to release in February.
Samantha in her tweet today praised the Kadal hero, expressing that Gautham looks exactly like what she had imagined him to be. She also loved the trailer and the performance of Gautham, it seems.
Gautham Karthik plays a character named Thomas in the film. Aravind Swamy features as a Church priest named Sam, Arjun, a gray shaded trader and Thulasi Nair, the love interest of the hero. Lakshmi Manchu, Ponvannan, Thambi Ramaiah and Pasupathy complete the ensemble.
