Seeman urges stars to plunge into politics

Actor-director Seeman has urged actors and actresses to take to politics in a big way and wondered why so much is being made out by the print and television about artistes from the entertainment media featuring in politics. Seeman was speaking at the recently held audio and trailer launch of Nagaraja Chozhan MA MLA (sequel to Amaidhipadai), which is actor-director Manivannan’s landmark 50th film as a film-maker.

“Actors shouldn’t be shunning politics…politics decides everything in our country including our fate and the country’s future…it also is an important instrument which brings about changes in society. As such, it’s not something which should be boycotted by actors and actresses,” said Seeman, who also heads the Naam Tamizhar political outfit.

Seeman, who plays a significant role in Nagaraja Chozhan MA MLA, said “A good human being won’t shun politics which determines everything in the country. If somebody says no to politics, how could he or she hope to create the kind of changes in society he/she visualizes? I appeal to my friends in the industry not to stay away from politics and contribute in a meaningful manner.

“This film has Manivannan and Sathyaraj joining hands together after a long time; both of them think on the same frequency. Sathyaraj has the potential to give life to the fire-brand dialogues penned by Manivannan. I wish the film a huge success,” concluded Seeman.
