Paradesi rules the Norway Tamil Film Festival Awards


The 5th edition of Annual Norway Tamil Film Festival founded by Vaseeharan Sivalingam and presented by founding sponsor VN Music Dreams, announced the final list of winners of Tamil Awards 2014 under various categories. The list was prepared by NTFF Board members and NTFF Jury Chief Mrs.Gloriana Selvanathan at the Stovner, Oslo City in Norway. The Awards are being given as Tamilar awards for films made in Tamilnadu and Tamilar awards for films made by Tamil's living in other parts of the globe. The winners of Tamilar awards Tamilnadu have been listed below. Director Bala's Paradesi has been selected as the Best Film. It is the production venture of Bala's B Studios. Bala himself has been adjudged the as the Best Director for the same film. The Best Actor award goes to Atharva for donning the lead hero role in the film and Chelian will receive the Best Cinematographer award for the period flick that traced the plight of Tea estate workers during the British era. Actress Pooja who made a comeback in flims with the thriller flick Vidiyum Mun has bagged The Best Actress award. Best Music Director Award goes to A.R.Rahman for his work in the film Kadal and Maryan. Sakthi Srigopalan will receive the Best Female Singer award for singing 'Nenjukkulle' in Kadal and 'Engapona Rasa' in Maryan. Sriram Parthasarathy will get the Best Male Singer Award for rendering 'Ananda Yaazhai Meettugirai' number in Thangameengal directed by Ram. The song was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Na.Muthukumar will receive the Best Lyricist award for penning songs in the film. Soori has been adjudged as the Best Comedy actor for his performance in Varutha Padadha Valibar Sangam directed by Ponram. Veteran actress Manorama who has 1000 films and 1000 stage plays to her credit will be felicitated with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Special awards instituted in the names of Director Balumahendra and K.SBalachandran will go to 'Haridas' directed by G.N.R.Kumaravelan and Raja Rani directed by Atlee respectively. The former has been selected as for being The Most Appreciated Film and the latter is The Most Popular Film. Paranoid Patient a film produced by Dhodhel Productions will receive 'The Midnight Sun Award. Under 'World' category of Tamilar awards The Best Film award will go to A Gun & A Ring produced by Eyecatch Multimedia Inc. Best Director award has will be given to director M.Sivam for directing this film. Thenuga K will receive the Best Actress Award for acting in this film. Prathap Ravichandran will receive the Best Actor Award for acting in this film. All Short film, Music Video, Documentary and Animation winners will be announced online on 10th April 2014.
