Vijay Sethupathi

A new talent to be introduced through Vijay Sethupathi's Mellisai Earlier last year Vijay Sethupathi had confessed that he wasn’t keen on listening to any new scripts as he had his plate full with several projects piled up. But the actor did eventually make an exception when Ranjit Jeyakodi narrated the script for Mellisai. Speaking to Behindwoods, the former assistant to Director Ram, Ranjit Jeyakodi said that Mellisai would be a musical romance subject. On the question of why Vijay Sethupathi had chosen this script, Ranjit said it could be due to the fact that musical romance was a new angle for the actor to explore and also probably because the screenplay is very racy. Ranjit Jeyakodi has opted to go for a new talent as far as music is concerned by introducing newbie composer Sam CS. Ranjit told Behindwoods “I needed a fresh sound and Sam has the talent to pull it off. The soundtrack will not follow a template structure like one kuthu song and two romance numbers, instead it will compliment the flow of the film.” Produced by Rebel Studios and starring Vijay Sethupathi and Gayathrie and featuring the lens work of Soodhu Kavvum Dinesh Kumar, Mellisai is 50 percent complete with their first schedule lasting around 26 days. The unit is looking to wrap things up in a month's time. Beginning 2014 with Vijay Sethupathi JSK Film Corporation, who has been a part of a number of Vijay Sethupathi films, including Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom and Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara will begin 2014 with Rummy. The movie, distributed by JSK Film Corporation will be released on 31st January. Starring Vijay Sethupathy, Aiswarya, Inigo Prabhakaran and Gayathrie in the lead, the movie is directed by Balakrishnan K. JSK on the other hand has also got hold of the release rights of Chimbudevan’s Oru Kanniyum Moonu Kalavaniyum, starring Arulnidhi and Bindu Madhavi, and Vanavarayan Vallavarayan featuring Kreshna, MaKaPa Anand and Monal Gajjar.
