In the thick of the troubles that Tamillians face in Sri Lanka, veteran director-actor Manivannan has come out with the kind gesture of getting his son, actor Raghuvannan married to Eelam Tamil girl, Abhi from Jaffna. The two got engaged on the day before yesterday, in Chennai, at Green Park Hotel, in a simple occasion attended only by close relatives and friends of the director. They will get married in grandeur in June this year.
Manivannan has churned out 49 successful classics right from 'Gopurangal Saaivadhilai' to 'Aandaan Adimai'. In his 50th directorial venture, Manivannan is currently making Sathyaraj's 200th film, 'Nagaraja Cholan MA MLA', which is acclaimed to be 'Amaidhi Padai - Part 2'. After this, he will be directing a light hearted college-based romantic comedy, titled 'Thalattu Machi Thalattu'. His son Raghuvannan is playing the hero in both these films.
