Karthik offers support to DMK

In a sudden development, actor Karthik on Thursday said that his Akila India Naadalum Makkal Katchi would support the ruling DMK in the forthcoming Assembly elections all over Tamil Nadu, except the 21 constituencies his party candidates are testing waters.

“Because we don’t want the AIADMK to come to power. DMK supremo M Karunanidhi is a gentleman. And we want to support his party and its candidates,” the actor-politician told reporters in Chennai.

Alleging that those owing allegiance to the AIADMK had threatened and kidnapped his party candidates, Karthik said, “This is a democratic country. Don’t we have right to contest the elections?”

The ‘Navarasa Nayagan’, who would start his campaign today, said, “I will make a whirlwind tour of the State and meet the people. I will expose the real face of the AIADMK in a decent manner.”
