If Mammotty’s ‘Tree Challenge’ was for environment protection to Tamil actor Vivek it is his life’s mission. So far, the actor has planted 25 lakh saplings across the campuses in Tamil Nadu. Three years ago, former president Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam put forward the suggestion of planting saplings before Vivek. Vivek took this as an opportunity and his life’s mission. He planted 10 lakh saplings in two years. In his second meeting with Kalam, he told him to continue with the mission. Now, the actor’s mission is to plant as much as a crore tree saplings across the state. Vivek also requests the Indian government to observe October 15, the birthday of Kalam, as National Student’s Day.
