Director General of Police K Ramanujam told reporters on Sunday that 20 Superintendents of Police will be in charge of the additional security cover. He was speaking after attending a security review meeting chaired by Home Secretary Rameshram Mishra here.

Mishra discussed sensitive areas, vehicle arrangements and deployment of police force during the celebrations at the meeting, also attended by Additional Director General of Police S George, senior police officials and Collectors of nine southern districts.

The four-day celebration of 104th birth anniversary of Pasumpon Muthuramalingam Thevar and 47th guru puja starts on October 27.

The SPs will visit all sensitive areas on a regular basis and monitor the celebrations, said Ramanujam.
