Two more awards for 'Paradesi' at LIFF

Director Bala's critically acclaimed 'Paradesi' has landed two awards at the prestigious London International Filmmaker Festival (LIFF). The movie, which was nominated in eight categories, won the award for best costume designer (Poornima) and best cinematographer (Chezhiyan). Set in the pre-independence period, 'Paradesi' was based on the book 'Red Tea' by Paul Harris and is about the plight of tea plantation workers in south India. The film featured Atharva, Vedhika and Dhansika in lead roles. It may be recalled that 'Paradesi' won an award for best costume design for Poornima at the 60th National film awards.
